Ingredients
Smoked Salmon
½ White Onions
Olive Oil â…“ Cup
Lemon Juice â…” Cup
Garlic Powder ¼ tsp
Salt + Pepper ¼ tsp or a dash
Pinch of SugarÂ
Cilantro (optional)
Instructions
Step 1Â
Thinly slice the onions. Pull apart the smoked salmon into smaller strips. If you want to add cilantro, pull apart the leaves.Â
Step 2
In a bowl, add in ⅓ cup of olive oil, ⅔ cup of lemon juice, ¼ tsp of garlic powder, ¼ tsp or a dash of both salt and pepper, and a pinch of sugar. Mix all of these ingredients together.
Ideally you want to focus on having a sour dish in order to cure the smoked salmon. You want to be able to drench the smoked salmon and onions in the olive and lemon juice mixture. The garlic powder, salt, pepper and sugar are for tasting so please adjust as desired.Â
Step 3Â
Add the onions, cilantro (optional), and smoked salmon into the bowl of mixture. Carefully mix all of the ingredients together and ensure that the smoked salmon and onions are coated and mostly covered in the sauce. Refrigerate for at least 30 mins. The longer you wait, the more cured the salmon will become. Serve.
